Parish Pastoral Council

The purpose of the Parish Pastoral Council is to advise the Pastor in his leadership of the parish, to welcome and involve all members of the parish family into parish life, deepen the spiritual life of all its parish family, spread the Gospel locally and world wide, provide the best possible total Catholic education, help all people in time of need, and promote sharing of time, talent and treasures through works of the faith community.  The Parish Council also sponsors the annual spaghetti supper each spring.

The Parish Pastoral Council consists of 12 members that are elected by the parish-at-large plus, the pastor, deacon, parish manager and the school principal.  The elected members serve a 3-year term.  There are three officers that are elected by the council.  They are the president, vice-president and secretary.

Each new member is asked to join a subcommittee that is governed by the Parish Pastoral Council as a representative and spokesperson.  The three committees are Stewardship, Liturgy, and Building & Grounds.  They are to attend the meetings held by these subcommittees and relay information and decisions back to the council.  Other subcommittees reporting to the council include Long Range Planning, Parish Nursing Program, Cemetery Board, Center Board, Bible Camp, Communications, Soup Kitchen, Blood Drive, Spiritual Life, Auction, Summer Social and Technology Committee.

The President of the Finance and School Board ministries sit on the Council as ex-officio, non-voting members.

Parish Council meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the 4th Thursday of each month. The meetings are open to parishioners as observers. To have a subject and/or presentation on the agenda, it must be provided, preferably in writing, to the executive committee for consideration two weeks prior to the meeting.
