School Board Commission

The purpose of the Board is to assist and advise the pastor and principal in the governance of the spiritual and academic education program in accordance with diocesan policy. This Board is an advisory board to the principal and pastor for St. Philip Catholic School with additional responsibilities for fiscal reviews, monitoring curriculum and instruction, selection and assessment of the principal, school/community relations and goal setting. When the Board meets as pastor, principal and members, and agrees on a school related matter, and it is ratified by the Pastor, the decision is effective and binding on all.
Parish Council and Finance Committee have changed their visitor policy and the School Board will now follow their recommendation. The new policy is as follows …
Regular meetings shall be closed to non-members. A period of time at the beginning of each meeting, not to exceed 10 minutes, will be designated for non-members to address the School Board with concerns or suggestions. A verbal and/or written request to address the Board must be submitted to the board President at least 12 days prior to the Board meeting in order to be placed on the agenda.
They meet on the second Thursday of each month at 5:30pm.
